Sling Therapy is a rehabilitation technique co-developed by Norwegian physical therapists and medical professionals. It uses a suspended sling system that allows the body to be supported in an unstable environment, enabling safe, controlled, and active movement of injured areas.
By suspending parts of the body in the sling, the influence of gravity is reduced. This allows patients to move more freely and comfortably with less pain and mechanical load. The supported and adjustable environment is highly effective for restoring balance and enhancing core stability.
The sling system also enables Closed Kinetic Chain (CKC) exercises, in which the hands or feet are fixed while the body moves. This method activates deep stabilizing muscles around the spine and joints, playing a crucial role in functional recovery and daily movement performance.
Sling Therapy is effective for patients with various spine and joint disorders, including:
‣ Herniated disc
‣ Spinal stenosis
‣ Scoliosis (adults/adolescents)
‣ Lumbar instability causing back pain and functional decline
‣ Shoulder dislocation or subluxation
‣ Shoulder dysfunction due to rotator cuff weakness
‣ Soft-tissue injuries around the hip joint
‣ Knee pain or instability
‣ Lower-extremity alignment issues leading to functional impairment
Note : Temporary muscle soreness or fatigue may occur after treatment.
