      Pain Management

At ROI Hospital, our pain management program provides specialized rehabilitation treatment designed to accurately identify the source of pain caused by musculoskeletal or neurological conditions and deliver targeted, patient-specific therapy.

Through detailed clinical assessment—including visual inspection, palpation, medical history, and diagnostic testing—we identify the underlying pain mechanism and tissue involvement. Based on this evaluation, we combine therapeutic modalities such as electrotherapy, phototherapy, extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), and orthopedic manual therapy to reduce pain and restore function.

Our goal is to relieve inflammation, reduce muscle tension, calm nerve hypersensitivity, and support faster recovery, helping patients return to daily life with greater comfort and confidence.

      Who We Treat

      1. Musculoskeletal Conditions

Pain management is recommended for patients with:

      ‣ Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)

      ‣ Rotator cuff disorders

      ‣ Forward head posture / straight neck syndrome

      ‣ Post–joint replacement pain

      ‣ Degenerative arthritis

      ‣ General muscle pain and soft-tissue injuries

      ‣ Sprains and post-fracture complications

      ‣ Scoliosis

      ‣ Spinal instability–related pain

      2. Neurological Conditions

For patients experiencing pain or weakness due to peripheral nerve injuries:

      ‣ Herniated disc

      ‣ Spinal stenosis

      ‣ Facial nerve palsy

      ‣ Brachial plexus injury

      ‣ Other peripheral nerve injuries causing neuropathic pain or motor impairment

      Pain Management Programs

      1. Heat & Cold Therapy

      ‣ Hot/cold packs

      ‣ Infrared therapy

      ‣ Therapeutic ultrasound

      ‣ Microwave diathermy

Note: Mild skin irritation or burns may occur in rare cases.

      2. Electrotherapy

      ‣ TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)

      ‣ Interferential current therapy

      ‣ Electrical stimulation therapy (EST)

      ‣ Low-level laser therapy

      ‣ Pain scrambler therapy

Note: Mild irritation or burns may occur in rare cases.

      3. Compression Therapy

      ‣ Reduces arm/leg swelling

      ‣ Improves blood circulation

Note: Temporary discomfort due to pressure may occur.

      4. Traction Therapy

      ‣ Reduces cervical/lumbar pressure

      ‣ Helps restore proper disc alignment

      Note: Post-treatment soreness may occur.
